The DnD Sanctuary - Terms and Conditions (T&C) - for your protection and ours

Responsibilities

  • The purpose of the DnD Sanctuary is to facilitate debates and discussions on everything under the Sun and then some. You can express your own opinion or experiment with opinions which are not your own and meet some very, very, interesting people. Any subject can be discussed provided it is legal, complies with these T&C, and is in good taste.
  • The DnD Sanctuary is for the use of registered members only. A valid email address must be used for registration and the act of registration means total acceptance of the T&C. The DnD Sanctuary Administration (DnDSA) will not divulge your email address to a third party unless obliged to do so by law or if the post contains malicious content (e.g. SPAM, Virus). Should a member's email address change the member shall correct their profile accordingly.
  • The DnDSA does not share nor does it accept responsibility for any opinions and other inputs expressed in the forum, nor liability for any deleterious results arising directly or indirectly from such. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented.
  • The DnDSA does not own material posted within the DnD  forum, the material remaining the property and/or sole responsibility of the forum member who posted it. If, without the written consent of the originator, posts are quoted externally, the responsibility for that act will lie solely with those that instigated and/or carried it out. Notwithstanding this restriction the DnDSA is hereby granted the right to reissue any or all posts should the DnD or its derivative have to move. In the case of Pings whose nature require the free exchange of information, and this is approved by the DnDSA, posting shall be treated as free information for uninhibited use by the Ping partner or, if appropriate, as fully open source material. Such Pings which come into these categories shall be clearly identified as such when they are initiated.
  • The DnDSA shall have the right, but not the obligation, to moderate any post and take appropriate action if such posts are judged by the DnDSA to be contrary to the letter or spirit of these T&C. Moderation shall be done by a team of DnD members nominated/renominated as Moderators on a yearly basis by the DnDSA.
  • The moderation process is enhanced by the ability of members to object to unsuitable posts by means of the forum report facility. Any further communications on moderation action, if exceptionally needed, shall be done by Private Message and not in open forum.
  • Moderation shall be determined at the sole discretion of the DnDSA moderation system and may include alteration or deletion or moving of posts, private or open rebuke or, as a last resort, in the event of a major violation of these T&C or inappropriate actions, banning from the forum. The decision of the DnDSA shall be final.
  • Please note that, with each post, the poster's IP address is recorded to enable further action, if needed, in the event of exceptionally severe misuse of the forum.
  • You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username and a password. You agree to abide by the T&C and never give your password to another person, not even an administrator, for your protection and for validation reasons. You also agree not to use another person's account for any reason.  We recommend that you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.
  • After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clear and accurate information. You are free to give no information if you wish. The DnDSA reserves the right to remove, without prior notice, material deemed to be inappropriate.
  • Note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password) in your browser's cache. This is only used to keep you logged in. The software does not collect or send any other form of information.
  • You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the DnDSA, its staff, other members of this forum and its subsidiaries and any related websites to this forum. The DnDSA reserves the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.

Posting Rules

  • Forum posting shall be used for discussions by individuals within the forum, not for any commercial interest nor individual monetary gain nor compensation of any kind.
  • Respect the law of the country from which you post and, this being an international forum, the law and sensitivities of other countries to which your post may be relevant.
  • Do not post material known to be false or libellous or containing any copyrighted or secret material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the material. If in doubt, and for your protection, provide a link to an openly accessible source rather than including it directly in the post.
  • Do not comment on on-going legal actions in any way that would undermine the process of justice.
  • Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are forbidden on this forum including material which is clearly defamatory, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, contains sexually, racially or gender-oriented slurs, or is threatening or illegal in any way.
  • Respect the privacy of all members. Do not use the information contained in this forum for any purpose than that of contributing to this forum.
  • Do not use capitals only in thread titles (excepting acronyms) or in the post; it is widely taken as shouting, and rude.
  • Choose thread titles which have some relation to the actual thread.
  • Try to keep on topic, but not at the expense of a valid digression of the discussion.
  • Post in the right thread and do not duplicate existing threads or repeatedly post the same input. The search facility is there to assist you.
  • Post in English but remain tolerant to those who are not well-versed in that language and make errors, remembering that this forum welcomes global participation.
  • Text-speak (txtspk) while not against the rules (we know that many people only access this site via mobiles) is not encouraged. Many people tend to ignore posts containing text-speak and we would not like you to think that other members are ignoring you. They're not, they just prefer to read lucid posts in English.
  • Avoid large files in posts; this is to conserve forum storage.
  • Acknowledge the source of the information, image or data you use in a post and provide a link to the source if available. Do not copy and paste whole articles.
  • In replying to a post, please quote only the truly relevant part of the post and avoid over-nested replies; this is both to aid understanding and also to limit the amount of forum storage needed.
  • Within the limits stated above, vigorous and frank exchanges are the norm so expect robust debate; but remember, attack the ideas, not the poster.
